In the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, a figure clutches one pentacle to his chest, stands on two others, and has a fourth balanced on his head. His posture is rigid and defensive. He has what he needs but is afraid to let go. The Four of Pentacles asks: are you holding on out of need or out of fear?
The Four of Pentacles indicates a focus on financial security. You may be saving, conserving, and protecting your resources. The card asks you to examine your relationship with money. The grip on material things can become a prison. Find a balance between saving and living, between protecting and sharing.
Reversed, the Four of Pentacles indicates release — letting go of the need to control, spending money, or giving generously. Loosen your grip and trust abundance. Can also warn of financial loss from carelessness.
In love, the Four of Pentacles warns against holding on too tightly out of fear of loss. Healthy relationships require trust and openness, not control.
In career, the Four of Pentacles suggests financial caution. Do not let fear of loss prevent calculated professional risks. Financially, the Four encourages saving but warns against greed.
In health, the Four of Pentacles suggests that holding stress and tension affects your health. Release physical tension and allow yourself to relax.
